FrameSnag (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a free Chrome extension by ScreenMerch for ScreenMerch creators only. This policy explains how FrameSnag handles information when you use the extension.

1. Who FrameSnag Is For

FrameSnag is for ScreenMerch creators only. You must have a ScreenMerch creator account to use FrameSnag. The extension lets you capture thumbnails and video frames from your own YouTube videos for use in your ScreenMerch merchandise. Use FrameSnag only on content you own or have permission to use. Do not use it to capture or distribute others’ copyrighted content.

2. Information We Collect

FrameSnag is designed to minimize data collection:

  • FrameSnag has no sign-in. The extension itself does not require an account or email. To use FrameSnag you must be a ScreenMerch creator (with a ScreenMerch creator account). We do not collect or verify your ScreenMerch account through the extension.
  • Captures stay on your device. Thumbnails and screenshots you capture are stored locally in your browser (Chrome local storage). We do not receive or store your captures on our servers.
  • No personal information. We do not collect your name, email, or other personal data through the extension unless you voluntarily contact us (e.g., for support).

3. How We Use Information

  • We use the extension only to provide capture and download functionality on your device.
  • We do not use your captures for analytics, advertising, or any purpose beyond your own use.

4. Data Storage and Sharing

  • Local only. Your captures are stored locally in Chrome. You can delete them at any time from the extension or by clearing extension data.
  • No sale of data. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
  • Third-party services. If you use other products (e.g., ScreenMerch, image hosting), their privacy policies apply to data you send to them. FrameSnag itself does not send your captures to our servers.

5. Permissions

FrameSnag requests access only to YouTube when you use the extension, so it can capture thumbnails and frames from the video you are viewing. We do not access other sites or your browsing history beyond what is needed for this function.

6. Your Choices

  • You can stop using the extension at any time and remove it from Chrome.
  • You can clear stored captures via the extension or Chrome’s extension storage settings.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of FrameSnag after changes means you accept the updated policy.
